Our story
SUNCAR AG was founded in 2015. The company was the result of an ETH focus project, on which students of mechanical and electrical engineering work every year.
The world's first wireless battery-powered e-excavator, which was developed and built as part of the 2014 focus project, attracted great interest from the public and the construction industry. In order to pursue the promising "e-excavator" project further, SUNCAR was founded as a subsidiary of Huppenkothen Baumaschinen AG.
The portfolio of e-excavators now includes several excavator models. In addition, SUNCAR has developed pioneering electric solutions in the field of commercial and municipal vehicles. Due to the high degree of innovation of the developments, SUNCAR has been honored with several awards from the solar and electric mobility industry over the years.
