General information on data processing

Scope of the processing of personal data

As a matter of principle, we process personal data of our users only to the extent necessary to provide a functional website and our content and services. The processing of personal data of our users is regularly carried out only with the consent of the user. An exception applies in those cases where it is not possible to obtain prior consent for factual reasons and the processing of the data is permitted by legal regulations.

To whom and for what purposes do we transfer your data?

Purpose of data processing

The temporary storage of the IP address by the system is necessary to enable delivery of the website to the user's terminal device. For this purpose, the user's IP address must remain stored for the duration of the session. We process this data firstly to be able to detect, track and stop cases of misuse of the SUNCAR website and thus ensure data security on our web servers and secondly to fulfill legal obligations and/or safeguard legal claims, in particular to be able to fulfill surrender claims by security authorities on the basis of corresponding national or international laws or other regulations.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics uses cookies that are stored on your terminal device and enable an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. In the event that IP anonymization is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be truncated beforehand by Google within the Member States of the European Union or in other contracting states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. Integration of third-party services and content

General

It may happen that third-party content, such as videos from YouTube, map material from Google Maps or graphics from other websites, is integrated within the SUNCAR website. This always assumes that the providers of this content (hereinafter referred to as "third-party providers") are aware of the IP address of the user. Without the IP address, they could not send the content to the browser of the respective user. The IP address is thus necessary for the presentation of this content. We endeavor to use only such content whose respective providers use the IP address only for the delivery of the content. However, we have no influence if the third-party providers store the IP address, e.g. for statistical purposes. Insofar as this is known to us, we inform the users about it.

YouTube

Our website uses plugins from the YouTube site operated by Google. The operator of the pages is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave, San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit one of our pages equipped with a YouTube plugin, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. This tells the YouTube server which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
