LR 1250.1 unplugged in use in Oslo

LR 1250.1 unplugged in action in Oslo

In 2020, Liebherr unveiled the LR 1250.1 unplugged, the world's first battery-powered crawler crane powered by an electric motor with a system output of 255 kilowatts.
The Liebherr LR 1200.1 unplugged is the world's first battery-powered crawler crane. It is powered by an electric motor with a system output of 255 kilowatts.
Compared to the conventional versions, there are no compromises in terms of performance and availability. The LR 1250.1 has a maximum lifting capacity of 250 tons and achieves the best possible combination of operator benefits, efficiency and environmental compatibility.
The new machine is emission-free and has a very low noise level - a great advantage in noise-sensitive areas and also for the people working on the site.
The crane can be recharged on a conventional construction power supply (32 A, 63 A) in 4.5 hours and optionally with 125 A in 2.25 hours. The capacity of the battery is designed for 4 hours of lifting operation. As the name suggests, the crane can be operated without cables due to the battery-electric drive.
